When I started this image, I started it with the intention of playing with a different style of background. One of the hardest things to do in this kind of artwork is to get a proper background in that actually fits the image and doesn't look like it's just pasted in. The results are frequently far from realistic enough to match the level of realism in the image.

This time I decided to try something different and leave the background white. It was inspired by seeing a set of digital pinups in military situations. Simple white background, sometimes there were props, sometimes not. Neat idea. I like it.

The character is my take on Artemis, the Greek goddess of the hunt, wild animals, and the wilderness.
