BlankPixel was started in 2000. Originally I intended it to keep up with the webdesign projects in a portfolio fashion to show to clients. It has since grown, a lot.
I modified the site layout every few weeks, until 2004 when I concocted the layout to the right. It was one I was particularly proud of, and spent a long time working on. I used CSS heavily and worked at it for weeks to make everything float and not float as was appropriate. The transparency on the words in the background had to be handled carefully, as IE doesn't support use of transparent png images, and gif images were too pixelated to be useful.
One of the things I was most pleased with was my success with her hands.
As you can see to the left, her hand covers the text on that part of the page. That was quite possibly the hardest part to get right about this entireh layout.
I have, as you can guess, since tired of this particular layout and switched it to the one you see now. Being an artist, I have to keep the site looking snazzy and new, or it wont portfolio my abilities as they change.
